Avengers: Age of Ultron releases in theaters with 3D Art from Sparx*
Sparx* is excited to have had the opportunity to work on yet another superhero classic motion picture in partnership with ILM. The Avengers: Age of Ultron is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, of which Sparx* also contributed to. Our art team produced several unique superhero vehicles along with digital doubles for the Avengers Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. Set in the Eastern European country of Sokovia, Earths mightiest superheroes band together to do battle with Ultron, a technological android enemy who believes he must destroy the human race in order to save Earth. A hair-raising global adventure unfolds as the Avengers encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers (Pietro and Wanda Maximoff) and attempt to stop Ultron from enacting his plan of human extinction. Avengers: Age of Ultron was directed by Joss Whedon and features a multitude of A-list Hollywood stars such as Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L Jackson (Nick Fury) and James Spader (Ultron). RETROSPECTIVE OF A GREAT 2015
With 2015 coming to a close, Virtuos is ending the year on a high note! Looking at our 2015 co-development track record, we have set new high standards of quality in shipping Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD on PS4 . This Japanese RPG scored an impressive 87% on Metacritic, which places it at the very top of the list of all time high scores obtained for an HD remaster. On the game Art side, Virtuos year’s top achievements included work on AAA titles that have earned 4 of this year’s “IGN Best of E3 2015 Awards” as well as the recently released Metal Gear Solid the Phantom Pain, Black Ops III, Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Rainbow Six Siege and Just Cause 3 to name but a few. Finally this year, our Virtuos movie team produced top quality assets for 5 blockbuster films, including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World. Topping off our amazing year in films, we are of course thrilled that the tremendously anticipated Star Wars The Force Awakens, has recently released in theatres with 3D asset support from Virtuos. Though we cannot mention all of the fantastic projects we worked on this year – there were indeed many! A big “thank you” to all of our studio partners for your valued trust and partnership. It truly allows us to work in a more integrated and efficient way and motivates us to raise the bar higher, with each and every project.
SPARX* CONTRIBUTES TO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
In 2014 & 2015, our Sparx studio had the opportunity to work on the highly anticipated blockbuster Star Wars: The Force awakens. The team contributed to the production of 25 Characters including fan favorites C3PO, Han Solo and Rey. They also contributed to 10 Vehicles including Rey’s speeder, along with numerous props featured in key moments throughout the film.

After 11 years on hiatus, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned to the big screen in their first live-action picture since 1993 as the stars of one of the summer’s biggest blockbuster films, TMNT. The film brings the Ninja Turtles back into the spotlight and introduces to them to a whole new generation of kids and teenagers worldwide.
