25 Years of Resilience

It all started in 1995...

"Studio de Coopération et de Formation au Métier de l'Animation" was founded in Ho Chi Minh City by French studio Pixi Box, empowered by Ministry of Education and Training.

One year later, the studio was renamed into Sparx* Vietnam after being acquired by the Franco-American publishing house Les Humanoïdes Associés, owner of the established Sparx* Animation Studios.

From a humble training hub for local talent, Sparx* Vietnam has grown into a production studio and put Vietnam on the CG world map. By the end of the last century, Sparx* was one of the very few foreign companies in Vietnam to get licensed for business operations in the cultural field. The studio was also the go-to destination for high-quality animation content in Vietnam.

25 Years of Resilience - Timeline

Entering the new millennium with the artistic and technical knowledge transferred from other sister studios in France and America, Sparx* maintained its role as a pioneer in the country by nonstop pushing its limits and honing its prowess. In the 2000s, Sparx* has successfully contributed to thousands of TVCs, TV programs and games that were aired and enjoyed across the globe.

With the release of Igor, directed by John Cusack, in 2008, Sparx* became the first-ever studio in Vietnam to contribute to a Hollywood feature production and eventually got independent from its parent company in Paris later that year.

In 2011, Sparx* became a member of Virtuos Group – one of the world’s largest content providers in the game industry. The acquisition has allowed Sparx* to extend its capacity and ambition to transform from a premium production vendor into a holistic solution provider for the world's biggest game creators and publishers as it is today.
